Conference 2012 Plans Underway

Plans are underway for Power of Partners Version 3.0, Eastern Region Community Media Conference to be held May 2, 3, and 4, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ.

The Mid-Atlantic Region of the ACM and The Jersey Access Group representing community TV stations in association with HB Communications partner together to present a conference that is one of the largest of its kind in the country.

The conference is designed to bring together community media TV station staff/volunteers, independent film makers/ producers, TV technicians/engineers, and individual advocates supporting the production and distribution of media content to the community.

Making It Affordable

The early bird full conference registration fee is $185 and includes the pre-conference Meet and Greet on May 2nd, two breakfasts, two lunches, two PM breaks, and the not to be missed “Partners Banquet”.

Additional savings are available with our group discount rate of $160 per person when you register 5 or more attendees at the same time. Early bird rates end on March 31. Click below on “Get more information” for a complete list of registration rates.

We have also negotiated an amazing hotel rate of $143 at this beautiful four-diamond facility. Hotel reservations are now open and can be made on line or by phone. The special hotel rate is good until April 23, 2012.

You Will Be Amazed

You will be amazed at how much value our conference provides, with so much to do while having all your meals included.

After reviewing last year’s post conference attendees survey, we kept all the things you told us made our conference a great experience. We are in the center of town with restaurants, clubs, and other amenities to explore within a short walk. We are only a few blocks from the New Brunswick train station that services the Amtrak eastern corridor and NJ Transit. Trains are also available to and from Newark Freedom Airport and New York City.

Wednesday, May 2nd
There will be some special workshops, details to follow, and the the Meet and Great in the evening.

Thursday, May 3rd
The number of exhibitors have continued to grow, making this the largest trade show of its kind devoted to community media education and production. Along with the many exhibitor tables, the trade show will include vendor presentations, a student symposium, and an operating TV production studio.

Friday, May 4
This full day of workshops focuses on providing panels consisting of industry professionals. Workshops will cover a large assortment of topics designed to assist in the producing and distribution of content. Our workshop leaders will guide presentations, manage question and answer sessions, and help to facilitate open and honest discussions among peer groups. Special roundtable workshops will address specific operational issues facing community media.

All-inclusive Food Package

The full-conference registration includes the popular all-inclusive food package including: the Wednesday night Meet and Greet, the Thursday morning Breakfast with the Vendors, Welcome Luncheon, and Afternoon Energy Break, the Friday Plenary Breakfast, Keynote Luncheon, and Afternoon Energy Break and the Partners Banquet an amazing night of food, live music, dancing, and surprises. Prizes and Awards

There will also be a number of prize give-a-ways and awards including door prizes at the Meet and Greet, the Vendor Passport Drawing, the Vendor Serving the PEG Community Awards, and, for the first time this year, The JAM Video Awards.
